RKMVU, located in Belur Math, Howrah, India, is an internationally recognized university administered by the Ramakrishna Mission. The university has served the country in many areas, including education, health, relief and rehabilitation, and propagation of Indian cultural heritage for over a century. GHS and RKMVU will work together to improve nutritional health and food security in rural, low-income regions that are adversely impacted by climate change and seasonal disasters. The partnership will also promote exchange and bidirectional learning to improve global health, education, and outreach efforts.
Global HealthShare member Dr. Moazzem Hossain (Project Director and Chief Technical Advisor for the Institute for Allergy and Clinical Immunology (IACIB) and former Director of Disease Control for the Government of Bangladesh) has received the Vestergaard Frandsen Award from the National Academy of Vectors and Vector Borne Diseases for the South East Asian region. The award highlights Dr. Hossain’s outstanding contributions to the field of communicable diseases and the mechanisms of vector bionomics.
